Chatham County District Attorney's spokesman Daniel Baxter told the Savannah Morning News Judith Phelps pleaded guilty Monday to providing false statements, criminal solicitation and concealing the death of another person.
Phelps was sentenced to 15 years in prison and is ordered to spend 12 of them behind bars.
Investigators have said the body of 64-year-old Thomas Phelps was found in the garage of his home on Talahi (tuh-LAY-hee) Island in early September of 2012.
Prosecutors have said the woman's then 14-year-old son assaulted his father and hit him in the back of his head with an ax. The teen pleaded guilty last week.
