Churches from all across Cherokee County are preparing for their Christmas Eve services and celebrations Tuesday.

There are numerous choices throughout the county, and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend.

First Baptist Church of Woodstock is presenting two services, with 7,500 expected at each of the worship times. Times are 3 and 5 p.m. and each will last one hour. Doors open an hour before the service begins, said Robin Gerardi of First Baptist.

“It is a very special event, everyone who experiences it says that it is very, very special. There is a candlelight moment, skits, a surprise visit by Santa. It is fun for the whole family and brings everyone together,” Gerardi said.

Gerardi said that it will include fun portions for the family, music, and will celebrate the gift of salvation and the birth of Christ.

“And there will be snow. The event is traditional as well as fun, and Pastor Johnny Hunt will bring a brief message and he will also offer a special musical offering. We do have fun,” Gerardi said.

First Baptist Church Woodstock is at 11905 Highway 92. For more information, call (770) 926-4428 or visit www.christmasatwoodstock.org.
