The Canton Police Department is welcoming two new officers to its ranks.

Patrick Duncan and Jason Patton were sworn in and pinned with their badges Thursday during a ceremony at City Hall, said Pacer Cordry, spokesman for Canton Police.

Cordry said the new officers were hired in October and attended the North Central Law Enforcement Academy.

They will spend the next few months in Canton Police’s field training officer program.

“The FTO training program provides a foundation for learning that prepares new officers for the complexities of policing today and in the future,” Cordry said.
