WOODSTOCK — A Cherokee County man was surprised with the grand prize in a national contest sponsored by a popular hot sauce company.

Shimada Boyce of Woodstock is the winner of the Frank’s RedHot Ultimate Tailgate Truck Sweepstakes.

Selected from more than 300,000 entries nationwide, Boyce was presented with the truck in a special ceremony Thursday at his home. The Frank’s RedHot Tailgate Truck is a custom Ford F-150 fully outfitted with all the necessities to have the ultimate tailgate and includes a barbecue grill, refrigerator, flat-screen TV, Xbox 360, custom rims and sound system.

“As the secret ingredient in the original Buffalo wing sauce recipe since 1964, Frank’s RedHot has been the centerpiece of game day tailgates for almost 50 years,” said Christian Ortiz, senior brand manager for Frank’s RedHot. “Just as our sauce makes everything bigger and better, the Frank’s RedHot Ultimate Tailgate Truck will make the tailgating experience bigger and better, too.”

When it came to fabricating the truck, Frank’s RedHot teamed up with Richard Wright, who is well known for restoring, rebuilding and repainting luxury and performance vehicles, ranging from a 1919 Lamborghini to a Ferrari and even a Learjet.

Wright specializes in welding, custom painting, fabrication and graphics, and recently took top honors at the Easy Rider Motorcycle show in Charlotte, N.C., winning “Best in Show.” He was at the truck presentation ceremony as well.

“I’m a huge fan of Frank’s RedHot and football, so I was ecstatic at the news I had won,” said Boyce. “While I favor the University of Georgia Bulldogs, my brother-in-law is a big Georgia Tech fan, so I have a feeling this truck is going to get a lot of use during tailgating season.”

For those who missed the opportunity to win the truck, Frank’s RedHot will be offering additional contest opportunities throughout the year.
