For the second straight season, Macedonia Baseball will open its season with Creekview players throwing out the first pitch.

The high school players who have signed a college letters of intent will throw out ceremonial first pitches March 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Those players are Hudson Graham (Bryant), Austin Smith (Georgia Highlands), Avery Smith (Georgia Highlands), Nick Williams (North Georgia), Jack Mayo (Montevallo), Case Carmichael (Toccoa Falls) and Max Holton (Piedmont).

The Macedonia organization is affiliated with Dizzy Dean Baseball. Games are played at a complex in the Macedonia community, near the intersection of East Cherokee Drive and Highway 20.

Each of the seven Grizzlies who will go on to play in college next season will throw the pitches in their Creekview game uniforms.

Creekview coach Mike Nayman said it is an honor for his players.

“It was extremely nice last year to see the little guys being around the big guys,” he said of the young tradition.

The event is open to the public.
