Prep Roundup: River Ridge girls blank Creekview

After a scoreless first half, the River Ridge girls soccer team got on the board in the second and beat Creekview 2-0 on Saturday.

Sydney Boozer scored first, then was followed by Kristian Leone’s goal off Jessica Anthony’s corner kick.

Jackie Donaldson recorded the shutout for River Ridge, which will travel to Cedartown on Monday for a Region 7AAAA game.

Creekview (1-3) will travel to Jekyll Island on Friday for the Tournament of Champions, beginning play with Clarke Central.


Woodstock 10, Marietta 3:
Jack Brannon was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs to lead the Wolverines to a non-region victory.

Jonathan Meuse went 4-for-4, Tanner Thomson was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Dalton Delay added a hit and drove in two.

A.J. Hayes earned the victory, pitching three innings, allowing four hits and striking out five.

Woodstock (7-2) will travel to North Forsyth on Wednesday.
