DEAR EDITOR:

Today’s environment of non-stop talking and the total absence of silence is totally frustrating for me.

My current defense is not listening to talking newspersons, talk shows of any kind, mute out all politicians, protestors, bureaucrats, fools, idiots, inexperienced, crooks, liars, thieves and bottom feeders of all species.

I guess you’re wondering who is left? I have a few that I do listen to.

I want to tell you about one of my very favorite wise ones among us. Better still, instead of having to listen to me, just listen to him. Look up the wise Donald Conkey’s column in the Cherokee Tribune on March 6. As you read Donald’s column, listen to what he’s saying to you.

I selected this column for a number of reasons. Donald fulfills many of my requirements to be considered as wise. A few of my wise criteria are good character, honest, responsible, kinder than necessary, passionate to share his vast knowledge and, most important to me, he is courageous in his love and respect for our America and our U.S. Constitution and willing to point out our president has neither.

Thank you Donald for being one of the much needed wise ones among us. I hope America is listening.

Zachary W. Henderson
