Kevin Scott Crawford, 43, died December 2, 2013 in Waleska, GA. Born in West Palm Beach, Fla, April 25, 1970, Dr. Crawford graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1988 and received his Ph.D. in Renaissance Drama from University of Alabama. He was a Professor of English at Reinhardt University and a Founding Company Member and Director of the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival. Through his selfless outreach and work he inspired and touched countless thousands of lives. As an actor he brought the Bard to life as leading man each summer for nearly 25 years. Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Barbara Crawford of Waleska, GA and Winter Haven, FL, sister, Jodi Foster of Winter Haven, FL, brother, Todd Crawford of Acworth, GA, niece and nephew McKenzie Louise and Gavin James Foster, very special Aunt Karen Hughes of Palm Springs, FL and other relatives. He also leaves hundreds of former students, fans, friends and his entire Shakespeare “family” to mourn and cherish his memory. A memorial service will be held on 3-21 at 3:00 at Reinhardt University. A service is planned this summer in Stratford-upon-Avon UK for Kevin’s international colleagues and friends. “And when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars. And he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun.” In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Dr. Kevin Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund, Office of Advancement at Reinhardt University, 7300 Reinhardt Circle, Waleska, GA 30183.
