CANTON — The Georgia Department of Transportation will be performing shoulder repairs to Highway 20 and guardrail fixes on Interstate 575 daily until Friday.

Repairs will be made from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, weather permitting, the department said in a news release.

On I-575, the work is isolated to mile marker 14.

Repairs like the ones on Highway 20 often consist of reshaping continuous sections of road shoulder using a grader or a truck-mounted conveyor to restore the shoulder to its original condition.

The purpose of the repairs is to maintain safety on the major commuter routes.
