Police charge 4 men in east Alabama slaying

LANETT, Ala. (AP) — Police in Lanett have charged four men with murder in a gunshot killing that happened in east Alabama.

Authorities say Christopher Michael Griggs of Lanett was found dead of a gunshot wound on Wednesday.

Police say four men from Valley are now charged with murder in the slaying. The identify them as Jacob Chase Shaddix and Rocky Tyler Starkey, who are both 18; 23-year-old Thomas Brent Starkey; and 25-year-old Paul Clayton Teague.

Rocky Starkey already was in the Chambers County jail on unrelated charges.

Court records aren't yet available to show whether the men have lawyers.

Police say their investigation continues.
