DEAR EDITOR:

I read the Cherokee Tribune front page lead story about the destroying of the historic Bell’s Store, starting July 1. This is pure greed by out-of-town “carpetbaggers” who don’t give a damn about our county or its history.

The greedy men responsible for this destruction, to be replaced by another gas station we don’t need, are repulsive.

This is a picture about money-grabbing, selfish, uncaring men across America who are destroying the things we citizens hold dear.

This is not just tearing down a building, it’s disrupting hardworking citizens’ lives, like Lisa Meyer, who have to bite this bitter pill and try to move on and survive.

In the days of our fathers and grandfathers, these culprits would have been run out of town. This is one new business, coming to our great county, I hope fails miserably.
