Cherokee County residents and operating partners for the new location, Kevin and Susan Johnston, will open the 14th Georgia location of Uncle Maddio’s in Canton today, according to a news release.
They will celebrate by serving free nine-inch, three-topping, create-your-own pizzas to all customers in line at 11 a.m., and one patron will be awarded pizza for a year.
“With 13 Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint locations in Georgia, it is time to bring the concept to the fast-paced, growing communities in Cherokee County,” said Kevin Johnston, in a news release. “By offering a premium fast-casual dining experience, individualized pizzas, paninis and salads, fresh, locally-sourced produced and house-prepared sauces, meatballs, dressings and more — we are truly bringing something new, unique and game-changing to our booming suburban community.”
Together, the Johnston’s bring more than 60 years of professional experience in hospitality, corporate real estate and medical education to their new family-owned business, they said.
The expansion is estimated to add 75 jobs to the county, the release said.
Focusing on food “served with love” at an affordable price, Uncle Maddio’s offers four pizza sizes, three types of crusts, six sauces and 48 toppings to customers for $7, with a six-minute prep and cooking time for each pizza.
For those with dietary restrictions, Uncle Maddio’s offers whole wheat and gluten-free crusts, hormone-free chicken, local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens. The menu also includes paninis and salads, prepared with locally sourced ingredients and salad dressings made daily.
The new restaurant will be at 2026 Cumming Highway, adjacent to the Canton Marketplace Shopping Center.
