Edith Hester Cochran, age 91, of Free Home, Georgia, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Cochran was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Old Hightower Baptist Church as well as a faithful member of the choir and WMU. She was also a part of the American Legend Auxiliary. Mama’s Hands: Mama was a strong woman in many ways. Her hands were never idle and she took time to pray. Her hands and heart were devoted to her husband, church, her five kids, and family she loved so much. She farmed and cooked-we can’t begin to list all the things she did or all the lives she touched. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, on Thursday, July 24, 2014, from Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Gerral Richards and Rev. Ronnie McCormick officiating. Mrs. Cochran will lie in state from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2014 at South Canton Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by Parents, Lee & Emma Hester; Sisters, Irene Hester & Effie Cowart; Brothers, Toy Hester & Roy Hester. Survivors include Husband, E W Cochran, Free Home; Daughter, Regina (Earl) Groover, Cumming; Daughter, Rilla (Ronny) Price, Canton; Son, Ed (Becky) Cochran, Holbrook Campground; Son, Coy (Brenda) Cochran, Free Home; Son, Stanley (Rhonda) Cochran, Cumming; Brother, Grady (Inez) Hester, Kennesaw; Brother, Jack (Jackie) Hester, Cumming; Sister, Ruby Milford, Macedonia; 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great-grandchildren.
