Cherokee loses season opener

Cherokee was shut out in its season opener Tuesday night, losing 3-0 to Harrison.

Kelli McCormack, Rachel Catt, Kindell Reeves and Anna Lee Stone each had a hit for Cherokee, who had three hits in the sixth inning.

Catt, who reached on a two-out single, made the final out of the sixth, trying unsuccessfully to score from third after hits by Reeves and Stone.

Harrison scored twice in the fifth and again in the seventh.
