Gerald Hickman, a Cherokee County man reported missing at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, was found Wednesday, deputies said.

Hickman, 63, was found in the woods behind a home on Rock Springs Lane in Woodstock at about 5 a.m. When he was located, he was “conscious but disoriented,” according to Lt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Hickman, a resident of Hardman Lane in Woodstock, went missing from his home and had suffered a stroke last week.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the Georgia State Patrol aviation unit assisted in the search for Hickman.

Once found, he was transported to Northside Cherokee Hospital for treatment.
