Canton-based ERA Sunrise Realty celebrated 20 years in business with a ribbon-cutting event Aug. 15, and a record crowd was on hand to mark the anniversary.

Sunrise Realty was founded in 1991 by David Moody and his father, Leonard Moody.

“When Sunrise Realty opened its doors in 1991, our goal was to provide the consumer with an experience within the purchase or sale of real estate that mixed expert knowledge of the local market, honesty, integrity, hard work ethic and genuine care,” said David Moody, who is now ERA Sunrise Realty’s chief executive officer and qualifying broker.

Moody pointed to the affiliation with ERA in 1994 as a means of growing the company and helping with its success.

“In 1994, we elected to broaden our vision beyond the Canton area and affiliated with ERA Franchise Systems, which embodies our core beliefs toward the consumer experience. ERA is a partner and brand that has provided us additional tools and services to accomplish our initial goal as well as national and global presence to expand with our vision,” Moody said.

The company has grown from one office and four sales associates to seven offices covering north Metropolitan Atlanta and Athens within the 20-year span, he said.

 Others within the company agree.

“Building on our history of cultivating relationships throughout our communities, ERA Sunrise Realty’s mission is also to provide the best mobile and web enabled customer experience possible,” President of ERA Sunrise Realty Greg Martin said. “With our re-branding, we also re-launched our website that provides seamless property search for customers and also facilitates efficient client-agent communication. We are always looking for ways to leverage different technologies to enable our agents to manage efficient and effective businesses so that they make more money and produce a consistently great experience for our clients.”

Barbara McGaha started with ERA Sunrise Realty in 1994 and she was recognized at the event. She continues to manage administrative responsibilities at the Canton office.
